other groups and gatherings (gas?)
www.reenact.com

caws: camping and wilderness survival skills
cawt: call amish, abide wth 12tribes, work organic farms, try other groups
lots: learn. observe. test. state a possible explanation. = scientific method
enoch: e=noch power = nitrogen oxegen carbon hydrogen , these work wonders.
farr: shelter = fire-place, air-flow, reflection of heat and rain.
clay: all soil = c-lay si-l-t a-gregate and s-y-s (additives:straw,recycld
foil: lay stones: f-riction o-verlap i-nward l-evel
friction- touching other stones in as many places as possible
overlap - one stone should be touching atleast two others
inward - lean of stone should be seeking to settle toward center of wall
level - stone should not be set on edge, but in position least movable

good soil for adobe test: mix soil sample with water, roll into a cylindar
1/4 inch by 8inch long. soil should not stick to hands. hold sample by one
end. extended out. good adobe will bread at about 4 inches, less than 2 inche
means add clay, breaks at more than six inches (close to hand) meand add sand or more grass-straw.

the mason jar test: take any soil ( a pile mixed well for a good average) and
drop a sample in a jar and mix with water. it will settle into three layers
of clay-silt and sand-aggregate. organic material will float.
dusty roads or places where water drains poorly are good signs of clay, or
dirt that looks really dark muddy when wet, like dung, gross!. because clay
is so light two ponds can be dug side by side to extract the clay layer into
the second pond. aggregate is sand or rock with sizes over 1/4th inch
y - sys: additives are often added to obtain desired abilitys to the clay.
aging or adding starters ( like bread-dough or biogas-tanks or active
fresh animal-waste stomach-pieces or other germ-source) to grow a
bacteria or enzyme in the clay ( like ice-cream or sour-breads)
-additives are commonly 1-20% of the total mix, s = straw, grass, hay or
other fiberous source, chewed-straw (horse or cow manure dung works to
make the best adobe-brick). y = recycled things like crushed-glass or an
old batch of clay pulverized to start a new batch, powdered plastics?
fiber-glass, fluxes: calcium-chloride, salt, flyash stabalizers: portland
-cement, asphalt, lime ( forms on cooling ceramics? bones of animals?)
borax, slag, colmanite, quartz (main ingredient of glass ) mines rocks,
fresh-horse-manure, rutin, vegetarian-rutin, leavining agents, soaps?
starters, enzymes, plant-acids chemical-products of, air-entraining agents
( similar to soap or what soap does )

mixes:
stucco: consists of a suitable aggregate(rocks or?) mixed with water and a
bonding material. egypt rome moslems mayas aztecs, they all use it.
-interior mix: fine-lime or gypsum plaster to which sand or pulverized marble
is added. a finer version of the big mixes (fine straw, fine sand, no agg,etc

cement-stucco: portland-cement, sand, and lime. applied in 3 coats, each about
1/3rd inch thick ( a meter is about 39 and 3/8th inches, or 100 mm ) .
final coat is finishes with colors textures imprints etc.

lime-stucco: used on the 21 alta-california mission for exterior
protection of outside adobe walls. mixture not given.

brick: fired clay,( block = sun-dried ) is clay silt and sand of equal amounts
with 0 to 20% straw or sand added, drop and pressure test differnt mixes
to find a mix the fits your need or the resources found in your area.

glass: 50%sand, 16%soda 20%cullet(crushed glass) 14%lime

common adobe: 0-33% clay-silt (50-50 of each) and sand-aggregate, straw or
horse-manure = 20%

ceramic adobe(gelaftan) for firing whole houses: add 20% crushed glass
and or other fluxes: borax, colmanitem iron-oxide (rust) or
red-dirt.

pottery: iron-oxide clay salt or other flux
-earthware:
-stoneware:see the-10 books previewed of ceramics from library

glazes: quartz lead or salt iron-oxide

concrete:26% fine aggregate (below 1/4th inch) 6% intrained air,
16%water(but no more) 10%concrete, 42% course-aggregate

plaster: 3-parts clay-earth with 1-part fine-straw-dust

common dirt: clay sand and silt is global.

mortar: adding lime dries it faster, ideal mix = same as brick uses, but
without aggregate.

this is about the peak of all my studies from june13-aug8 2005 clay+dirt info
most details are kept in papers placed in books at... ,
g

enjarrando: plastering with adobe, see anita rodriguez of taos new-mexico

and make better storage rooms at..., like clay-jars in caves.
